Carlos Santana and Cindy Blackman Will Married Soon - Carlos Santana, a guitar virtuoso, will be married (again) soon. He proposed his drummer -- and girlfriend -- Cindy Blackman, onstage at his concert in Tinley Park, Illinois, on Friday.Cindy Blackman, a 50-year-old drummer and jazz percussionist, has worked with Lenny Kravitz and Cassandra Wilson. Cindy gladly accepted the proposal, jumping off her drums and kissed Santana in the crowd of the cheering fans.
The proposal surprised Blackman after she joined Santana for a drum solo during the song "Corazon Espinado."
In his statement to MTV News, Santana said that he and Cindy are blessed to have found each other. "Being in love is a gift from the universe, and the spirit and vibrations that come with it are infinitely powerful. I look forward to expressing that incredible energy through my music, and in helping to tip the balance toward more love in the world with what Cindy and I share" he continued.
Santana is on his way to his first leg of his Universal Tone Tour and is currently preparing for the release of Guitar Heaven: Santana Performs the Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time in two months forward. This is his first studio album in six years. The tour will be continued in late September, with a month-long stretch in Europe.
No detail about the wedding preparation yet. This will be Santana's second marriage after he divorced from Deborah Santana in 2007. His first marriage lasted for 34 years.
