Garmin Recall Nuvi GPS Due to Battery Overheating

Garmin has released an announcement to recall 1.3 million of it's Nuvi GPS. The recall is caused by an overheating battery.

Garmin said that the Nuvi GPS battery has potential to be a fire hazard due to the overheating problem. The battery supplier for the device will replace the battery for free.

From information released by Garmin, the Nuvi GPS device affected are the following model:

• 200W
• 250W
• 260W
• Nuvi 7XX (XX is a two-digit number)

You can find out your Nuvi GPS model by checking the label on the back or bottom of the device.
